As the owner of The Alternative Board Sutherland Shire , I bring a broad range of experience across small, medium and large businesses and particularly enjoy helping businesses plan for diversification.
I have a masters in social administration, specialising in human services space, as well as studying service design – strategic planning from the customers perspective.
Working in the community space managing competing government agendas and constantly shifting policies in an environment where funding is difficult I have experience of operating in an environment of continuous change and stress. This has helped me to become very resourceful and innovative.
I have also built up an understanding of how to implement and blend the principles used in larger organisations with the needs of small business having been an integral driver behind the implementation of Disability Services Australia (DSA) programmes across Sydney which involved delivery through a forming a group of small business to provide the services on behalf of DSA and then supporting and guiding those small businesses over 16 years.
I am now looking to give back to a wider community of business owners and from my very first board meeting, I was absolutely blown away by The Alternative Board’s culture – which is important to me. I was amazed by the different people sitting around the table from very different industries all working so collaboratively to solve different issues.
TAB allows me to use my skills from thinking outside the box, to being creative and passionate, being a leader, a listener and a communicator – and I love that I get to share all of that with members.
