I have a big picture outlook that allows me to be excel when it comes to creative problem solving, leading and motivating people, combined with a training and background that allows me to understand and appreciate the importance of the operational and compliance systems that allow a business to succeed.
With a first class Masters in Engineering from Oxford University in the UK I had a rapid rise through technical management, before moving my focus to sales and marketing and then General Management and I have managed businesses both large and small over the last 20 years.
My career history has included leadership roles in a range of sectors including manufacturing, construction, architecture, mining and heavy industry, sports, training and consulting services. These have ranged from small family businesses to global international corporations in the UK, US, NZ and Australia and include Dyson, Fisher & Paykel, Williams F1 and SGS.
During that time I found a niche leading significant turnaround and growth through culture change and sales growth, but more importantly by inspiring teams and individuals to perform in ways they didn’t believe possible.
This experience has helped me understand the challenges of balancing all aspects of life and the stresses and strains this puts on both personal and professional relationships. I had to dig into and understand my values and motivations in order to prioritise more effectively and ensure a balance of career and personal successes.
Now a certified coach and facilitator as well as the owner of The Alternative Board Australia, I share the wisdom gained in my journey with my franchisees and business owners that I work with to ensure they have a rewarding TAB experience.
